Avigdor Kalahani has a long history of service in the army and in the Israeli government. He is well known for his leadership on the Golan Heights in the Yom Kippur war, and has been credited with saving Israel on the northern front with a small battalion of battle weary tanks with little ammunition, that destroyed hundreds of Syrian tanks against all odds. But that is just one chapter of a distinguished career as a “tankist”, a commander and a leader. He has been a Knesset member, a minister, and head of a party in the Knesset and will be with us this Shabbat to share his story.

This Shabbat we will be privileged to host Rami Sherman, who served in the Sayeret Matkal unit of the IDF from 1972 to 1980. His missions included serving as Operations Officer of Operation Thunderbolt, the Entebbe Hostage Rescue unit, under the command of Yoni Netanyahu. Rami will be speaking at Seuda Shlishit after Mincha at 8:00 pm on the topic: "Entebbe – a rescue mission like no other".
